My sister and I grew up in the 70′s and we loved the rock band KISS. This was the time of vinyl records and stadium concerts that everyone could afford.
We shared a bedroom and had KISS pictures all over the walls- and even on the ceiling. We collected all the KISS albums and played them constantly. We were also members of the original KISS army- a bunch of crazy teenagers who just loved everything about the band.
The four original members of KISS were Gene Simmons on bass, Paul Stanley on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, Ace Frehley on lead guitar, and Peter Criss on drums. In 1980, Peter Criss left the band and was replaced by Eric Car.
The members of KISS became famous not only for their important contribution to rock and roll and their impressive body of work, but also for the white face, kabuki-style makeup they wore, portraying their individual personas, or characters.
Gene was the Demon, Paul was the Starchild, Ace was the SpaceAce, and Peter was the Catman. Later, Eric was the Fox.
The KISS characters have become immortalized not only on the usual rock and roll posters and T-shirts, but on a wide variety of items as well.
KISS McFarlane Toys have immortalized the KISS characters in amazingly detailed figurines and remain popular today.
Collecting KISS memorabilia can be a fun and even lucrative hobby for enthusiasts of the band.
Whether you love Gene, Paul, Ace, Peter, or Eric, KISS McFarlane Toys make a great gift for any die hard member of the KISS army!
