The Shun Santoku Knife

Posted August 25, 2010 by in Kitchen | 10 comments

If you’re looking for a knife for use in the kitchen which has superior craftsmanship, you will need to think about the Shun Santoku. This content will provide a brief review as it relates to this unique quality knife. Learn why this particular knife is so well-liked and also why it is capable to stay ahead of all the rest.

I do a lot of food preparing inside the kitchen, and as such I needed a knife that will be able to deal with everything that I do, this is when I made a decision to acquire a Shun Santoku. There were many choices available to me from firms like Henkel and Wusthof. In the end I decided to go with Shun, because of it’s popularity plus lots of people had nothing but high praises about it.

This Santoku knife impressed me instantly as I took it out of the box. When compared to many less expensive knives on the market, you can definitely tell that this is an extremely top quality product. One thing I loved about the knife is that it was extremely sharp. The sharpness permitted me to use it on an array of items like frozen pork to even soft and squishy tomatoes. It was able to just cut through anything effortlessly. I was not accustomed to a knife this sharp and consequently, I was totally amazed.

Gripping the Shun Santoku was quite easy, primarily since it has a very nice strong handle I loved the knife as it had a Damascus look to it. Slicing sticky food was not a problem because the food would not cling to the blade. In fact there are options to obtain the scalloped or non-scalloped edition of this kind of knife. A few state that the blade with the scallops allow sticky food to fall off easily, with my version, the food fell off just fine.

This is a multi-use knife and because of that I really love it. This knife is very versatile, it can be used to do every thing from dicing, slicing, mincing and chopping. If you are looking for an all-purpose knife for the home, then you certainly should get the astounding Shun Santoku, your life won’t be the same.
